The Mark of Athena,Heroes of Olympus, Book 3

Leo XXXVII

Leo had to admit, Victoria was fast.

Leo basically just stared at the Greek fire like an idiot until Victoria jumped in front of him and pushed him out of the way. Percy caught the Greek fire with his sword and threw it hard over the deck and into the forest. Half a second later, the forest was rocked with a Green explosion.

Annabeth lunged at Khione with her knife, but Khione grabbed her shirt and Annabeth turned into the world's scariest ice sculpture.

"NO!" Percy's voice was full of shock and anger. He was shaking with fury. With another yell, Percy threw his sword at Khione, which promptly turned into a super sharp icicle. Percy glared at Khione, then attacked with absolutely no weapon. He turned into ice, but as soon as he was completely frozen, he melted back into a human being. "Hey, snow lady. You're talking to a son of Poseidon." He held out his hand, and Annabeth melted into something even scarier.

Now he was glad he couldn't read lips.

Leo lobbed a ball of fire at Khione. "Hotter than ever!" Victoria looked at Leo incredulously.

"What?" Leo said. "It annoys her. She's the goddess of snow." When Leo looked back at Khione, her dress was sopping wet.

"The witch is melting!" cheered Piper. A sink sprayed Khione, and Leo knew that Percy was definitely enjoying this. "Oh, lookie there, now she's freezing. That cannot feel good."

Luke stepped in and swung his sword at the reforming iceberg. "Take that, snow princess." The ice exploded into snowflakes, and the only thing that could tell someone Khione had been there was a wet spot on the floor.

Oh, yeah. And the burning forest.

"Leo, get this freaking boat AWAY from here!" shouted Frank.

"Happy to oblige, friend."

"Is it just me, or was that way too easy?" Percy asked after the Argo was safe in the air. Annabeth nodded, frowning.

Thinking back on it, Leo should have known not to move on with their daily lives.

BDOH-BDOH-BDOH

Leo couldn't remember who shouted first. He couldn't remember how it started. All Leo could remember was that the two strongest demigods he knew where now fighting.

Leo didn't even know if Roman Rivalry had anything to do with it.

Just that Jason and Percy got into a fight.

And it was bad.
