"Mmm-hmm,” he murmurs. "Standing probably wasn't that effective in terms of knocking you up. We should try again later in bed, with your legs in the air."
Later, in bed – after we've tried again, of course – I lay with my head on Luke's chest while he snores quietly beside me. Olivia and Allison are sleeping, and the house is quiet. It won't be quiet for long, not if we add a new baby to the mix, but that's okay. Quiet is overrated. The life we've built together in West Bend is about as perfect as I could ask for.
