A McKenzie Christmas (McKenzie Brothers, #5.5)

“I will.” Madison went off toward the kitchen to relay her message.

Sofia was Ruben’s middle child and she was the spitting image of her mother, Rosie. Her heart was set on a life in catering, and her all time dream was to have her own wedding cake business. Her granddaughter was just as strong willed as her father, so Pippa knew that Sofia’s dream would come true.

She hadn’t taken two steps when, Ryan, Ruben’s eldest, was beside them. “How’s my favorite girl.” He kissed her on the cheek.

“Stop trying to sweet talk your grandmother,” Elias mumbled.

She chuckled because they’d been saying that between them since Ryan was around sixteen. She had a feeling he liked the ladies a little too much with his sweet talk, and the cowboy swagger he had going on. She’d told Ruben that he was too young to be inside Kenza, let alone helping to run the place, but her son would just laugh. Probably because it really was like father, like son.

“Help me sit.” Once she was settled next to Elias, she turned to Ryan. “Why don’t you have a girlfriend yet?”

Ryan blushed. “Now, grandma. I’m only twenty-three, there’s plenty of time to find ‘the one’.”

“I can see Alexander and Dylan carrying the cake so you’re off the hook for now.” Pippa chuckled to herself as a relieved sigh left her grandson.

To reach the age that she was, and to still have all her family alive and well, touched her beyond anything she could imagine. Pippa knew that she was lucky and not a day went by that she didn’t thank God that she had been blessed with so much love.

This isn’t the end, but only the beginning…
