The Wolf King

“I think Justin has something to tell you.”

Justin wanted to fall through the floor. His eyebrows shot up as he looked from Caleb to Demetri and then back to his best friend, giving Caleb a murderous glare.

Caleb appeared unrepentant as he grinned at Justin.

Justin was too terrified to turn back to Demetri. He glanced down at his hands as Wulf drove them to Frost Manor. When they arrived, Justin bolted from the car before it had come to a complete stop. He had to get away before Demetri gilled him. How could Caleb do that to him?

“Hey, J,” Caleb said when he caught up to him inside the house. “Stop panicking. It’s cool.”

Whirling, Justin glared at Caleb. “How could you do that?”

Caleb blushed, grinned, and then laughed. He slung his arm over Justin’s shoulder. “Come on. Tell me you don’t find it the least bit funny that you are into old dudes.”

“And you aren’t repulsed that I like guys?” Justin chewed his lower lip as he stole glances at Caleb from under his lashes.

“Sorry, J,” Caleb said. “That wasn’t really a secret. I only teased you about girls so you’d finally tell me and get that burden off your chest.”

“You’re an ass.” Justin elbowed Caleb in the gut as he smiled. He should have known that Caleb would be cool with him liking guys. Nothing seemed to ruffle the guy—nothing but heated debates with his father.

Wiggling his brows, Caleb said, “Let’s head to my room, and I’ll see if I can find some gay porn for you to scope out.”

The skin over Justin’s cheeks heated to nuclear levels. “You really are an ass.”

“Justin,” Demetri called to him when the older man walked through the front door. The guy sounded calm as Justin turned. “I would like to see you in my study.”

Chapter Four

Justin crossed the crimson carpet of Demetri’s study and glanced at the seat the man waved him to. His eyes flickered to the padded chair behind the desk and wished he could sit there. Not as head of the house, but on Demetri’s straining, well-formed thighs. Justin shivered just thinking of sitting in the older man’s lap.

It’ll never happen, so stop drooling over him.

Justin would more than likely drool over Mr. Frost for years to come. He was positive that he would. He glanced around the ultra-masculine office. It wasn’t too often that Justin was in this room. Not unless he and Caleb were stealing in here to get to the liquor.

“How much do you know about my family history?” Demetri walked over to the built-in glass-and-dark-wood cabinet and poured himself a glass of amber liquid. Caleb had once told him that Demetri had his liquor collection imported from somewhere overseas. He remembered the times when he and Caleb were younger and used to sneak into Demetri’s study for sips of the expensive stuff.

Justin could use more than a sip now, but Demetri didn’t offer him any.

Like the guy would.

The question caught Justin off guard. He’d been expecting Demetri to ask him about what Caleb had said in the car. “Not much,” he admitted as he pressed his hands into his lap. “Just that you are some kind of royalty.”

Justin tensed when Demetri took a sip of his drink, set the crystal glass down, and then moved to stand behind him. The guy’s strong hands pressed into Justin’s shoulders. “So you are unaware that Caleb is a prince and must stay out of trouble?”

That news had Justin’s eyes widening, but he couldn’t manage to think with Demetri’s warm hands on him. “No.”

I’m going to kill Caleb for not telling me that. I was hanging around a freaking prince this whole time! But then again, I should have figured it out. Hello, royalty. Does that ring a bell?

“The next time Caleb has one of his brilliant ideas, I want you to let me know before you two end up in trouble or you end up back in the hospital.”

Demetri’s thumbs ground into Justin’s shoulder blades, massaging the tight muscles. Justin closed his eyes and caught the groan before it escaped. The touch was nothing more than Demetri showing affection, but Justin wanted to believe it meant something else. His stomach did flips as his lips parted, and he was five seconds away from begging the man to… Wait. What had Demetri just asked him?

Justin twisted in his seat and looked into those gorgeous amber eyes. “Let me get this straight. You want me to be a spy on my best friend?”

Demetri petted Justin’s hair softly before he rounded the dark wood desk and took a seat. The guy steeped his fingers together. “Is that a problem?”

“Uh, yeah. I’m no one’s stool pigeon.” Caleb would drop Justin as a friend in a heartbeat regardless of their close bond. Besides, Justin would never do that to his best friend.

“No matter that I’ve cared for you all these years?”
