A Beautiful Choice (Beautiful, #5)

Smiling at one another, we were both happy with where we were with our lives. Walking over to me, Ryder patted me on the back and said, “Time for you to get married, man.”

Looking out the window down at the crowd of people waiting for me and Sarah, I smiled. “Yes, it is.”

He slapped me on the back. “Enough of this gushy shit. Time to get this show on the road.”

Nodding my head, I chuckled. Ryder always could get me to laugh in the most stressed out of times. Walking out of the room, we both walked down the stairs and out to the backyard. I could feel the warm sun hitting my face as I stepped into the backyard.

Hearing claps and hollers from our guests on either side of me, it was then I felt excited. Of course I had been excited about this for a long time, but it’s different when you go through the motions. I feel like it’s kind of like grief. You go through different stages of grief. You go through sadness and anger. Depression and rage. I don’t want to sound like I’m comparing a wedding to grief. It’s kind of ironic if you really think about it. As a man you hear jokes all of the time about the day you get married your life is over.

In this very moment? I felt the exact opposite. I felt like mine was finally beginning. I couldn’t wait to spend the rest of my life with that beautiful girl. She taught me how to be a man. She showed me what love really was.

Within seconds I was standing at the make-shift altar and in the next the music was playing. Standing up straight, I was a ball of nerves. My hands were clammy. My breath was short. My eyes were probably twice the size they normally are. And then it all changed.

I saw people stand from their seats and then I saw Sarah’s right foot at the of the corner of the aisle. Taking a deep breath, my eyes never left hers as she walked towards me. To me. I couldn’t believe how beautiful she looked. Not only was she this sexy, stunning, drop dead gorgeous girl, but her spirit was incredible. She would do anything for anyone. She was selfless like that. Sarah was always like that but only few saw the real her. Most just saw a front of Sarah. That is, until we met.

Getting back to the moment, I took a deep breath and just watched her. My eyes never left hers. I couldn’t tell you who else was there or what people were doing. All that mattered in that particular moment was Sarah and I.

I watched as Sarah’s eyes went from Ryder and slowly turned my way. The second her eyes reached mine, I felt my heart leap. I brought my hand up to my mouth. Choking up, I couldn’t believe how beautiful she was and that for the rest of my life I would be with her. I truly believe God works in mysterious ways and he certainly worked his magic when it came to the two of us.

Every step Sarah took towards me, I felt like I was going to burst into tears. I just couldn’t believe that today had finally arrived. I knew it would happen for us and I couldn’t believe the day had finally arrived.

Placing my hand out, Sarah quickly grabbed it. I gave her a gentle squeeze. She looked up at me and I winked down at her. With tears filling her eyes, she smiled up at me.

I can’t tell you exactly what happened during our wedding because I just stared at Sarah. I remember her and I each saying our I do’s. I certainly remember the priest saying, “You may kiss your bride,” but I was too dumbstruck staring at my wife.

Feeling someone slap me on the back, I let out a laugh and turned to see Ryder yelling, “Finally!”

Shaking my head, I said, “I know,” and smiled over at him. Looking over at Sarah, who was talking with Iz, Ash, and Jade, I couldn’t take my eyes away from her. She was just one of those people who could walk into a room and own it.

Hearing Ryder clear his throat, I turned and asked, “What?”

Chuckling, he took a gulp of his ice cold bottle of beer. “I’m just surprised you two are still here, is all.”

In that moment Sarah walked over. “What are you two talking about?” She took my left hand and held onto it.

“Oh, just when you two are going to leave to go fuck like rabbits, is all,” Ryder said.

“Ryder, stop it!” Iz said, slapping him on the chest.

Looking down at her, he whispered loudly enough for all of us lucky bastards to hear. “Oh, we’ll be leaving soon, sweetheart, don’t you worry.”

Iz slapped him again on the chest but I could tell her cheeks were getting a little red. I couldn’t wait for those two to get married next summer.

I heard Sarah’s sexy, light breath just before she nipped my ear. “Are you ready to leave?” she asked. Then she lightly licked the tip of my ear and sucked it into her mouth, releasing a moan.

I grabbed her hand and placed it at the hem of my pants. Hearing her gasp, I leaned down and whispered in her ear, “I am so ready.”

As I leaned away from her, I could hear her breathing changing from normal to this light airiness. Her mouth was slightly opened and I got just a bit harder in my pants. I didn’t know if I wanted to kiss it or fuck it first.

Standing at the door to our hotel room, I looked down at Sarah.
