A Beautiful Choice (Beautiful, #5)

I looked over at Jade. I was curious as to what she would say. I thought she would have a disgusted look on her face but she had the biggest smile and a twinkle in her eye.

Looking between the two of us, Jade laughed. “Yes, bitches! Believe it or not, I want romance, too!” She raised a finger. “However! I am NOT going to get laid till I find him.” Nonchalantly, she shrugged her shoulders. “Don’t get me wrong, because I love using a vibrator. But when I can get the real deal? I’ll take it hands down.” Pausing, she tilted her head. “On second thought, I wish I could take some of those guys back, because damn, my Peter can really do it.”

Ash and I both looked at one another with the same questioning look on our faces. Looking over at Jade, Ash said, “I’ll ask for the both of us. And Peter is…?”

“Oh, my vibrator!” Jade said with a smile. “I named him Peter because he’s a rabbit vibrator.”

“You named him Peter after Peter Rabbit?” I asked. I couldn’t believe this girl. She would definitely keep things interesting this year and the next few years.

Shrugging her shoulders, Jade said, “Oh, whatever.” She jumped off the bed. “I’m starving.”

“For dick?” Ash asked.

Running over, Jade jumped up on the bed and landed on Ash. “Oh, we’re so going to be bestest friends!” while squealing at the top of her lungs.

Letting out a laugh, Ash said, “You’re squishing me!”

Jumping off the bed, Jade turned to me and asked, “You want to come with us to get something to eat before we go out tonight?”

Pausing, I said, “Well—”

“Oh, pleeeeeaaaaase!” Jade begged as she walked over to me and got down on her knees. She gave me big puppy dog eyes. “Please don’t make me beg.” She poked out her bottom lip.

Laughing, I said, “Oh my God, Jade!”

Getting up off the floor, Jade said, “Don’t judge me!”

Raising my arm, I said, “I would, but I’ve got some more boxes to unpack. Raincheck?”

Jade sighed. “Oh, fine.” She turned towards Ash. “Let’s go, roomie!”

“See ya later, Sarah.” Walking Jade towards the door, Ash said, “Just come over to our room around 9ish? You can help me figure out what I’m going to wear tonight,” and smiled at me.

“Okay,” I said as I nodded my head. “I’ll see you at 9.”

Jade gave me one more smile and said, “See ya then.” Turning, she ran down the hall and said, “I’m coming, Ash!”

Laughing I couldn’t believe how crazy Jade was, but she would definitely keep things interesting. Closing the door, I was about halfway to my desk when someone else knocked on the door. My stomach dropped because I wondered if it was my roommate. I opened the door and said, “Hi, I’m—” and stopped.

Staring, I couldn’t believe who it was.

Smiling down at me, he said, “Hey.”

I could feel tears forming in my eyes. “What are you doing here?” I asked.

Shrugging his shoulders, he said, “My name’s Gabe. I just wanted to introduce myself. I’m going to be living on this floor this year so—”

“Gabe, I know who you are! I asked what are you doing—” Pausing, I thought about his words. Folding my arms, I whispered, “You’ll be living on this floor?”

I didn’t even realize tears were falling from my eyes before Gabe placed his hand on my cheek and began to wipe them away. When he was satisfied, Gabe asked, “Can I come in?”

I couldn’t form words so I just waved my hand for him to come in. I waited for him to close the door. “Gabe, what—” but he cut me off. Wrapping my face in his hands, Gabe crushed his mouth to mine. I could feel my knees getting weak. Gabe must’ve noticed because he wrapped his arms around my waist. Lifting me up, he sat me down on my bed.

Placing my legs on either side of him, I then wrapped my arms around his neck. I didn’t want to let go. I started to suck his lower lip into my mouth when Gabe groaned. I wondered what I did wrong, because the next thing I knew, Gabe was stepping away from me.

Breathlessly I asked, “Did I do something wrong?”

Chuckling, he waved his hand towards his crotch and said, “Not at all, Sarah.”

At that moment I looked down at his crotch and could tell he was hard. Sucking my lower lip into my mouth, I trailed my eyes up to his.

“Oh, goddamn. Please stop doing that.”

“Sorry,” I whispered after I released my bottom lip.

Letting out a breath, Gabe raised his hands and let them drop onto his head. Talking to himself, he said, “I had this all planned out the way I wanted this to go.”

Giggling, I said, “Gabe, just go with it. Screw planning. Just tell me.”

Dropping his hands at his sides, Gabe said, “I love you, Sarah.”

“But what about Arizona? I thought you signed a contract with the school? What happened?”

Before he could even breathe, Gabe walked over to me. Grabbing my hands in his, Gabe looked into my eyes. “My dad,” he whispered.
